The art room serves over 350 students! Four days per week, between 45 to 85 elementary school students come through the art room. Each grade has their own lesson plans that are integrated with the Hawaii standards and grade level goals and subject matter.\r\n The drying racks you provided have proven invaluable for our learning, creating and producing. Fifth graders are working on self-portraits and the racks were loaded with seventy-five of their painted backgrounds. Fourth graders have been exploring Hawaiian and Pacific patterns and their eighty prints have filled the drying racks. The second graders finished their collages about animals and habitats, eighty-five of their collages dried on the racks. Without the drying racks, we wouldn't have space to do these kinds of projects for all the students. Without the drying racks, the projects we could do would have to be spread on the floor and cubbies along the edges of the room in order to dry, and each class as the day went on would be more crowded into the center and it would be challenging to keep the art work organized.\r\n This is all to tell you how grateful we are for your donation, and how much the drying racks and paints are put to use.
