The new recess materials have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom community. My students have been using the playhouse, soccer balls, and catching games every day to practice collaborative play, problem-solving, and gross motor skills. One of their favorite activities has been creating \"obstacle course challenges\" together—they take turns designing a course, cheering each other on, and celebrating everyone's successes. It has been a joy to watch them include classmates who are sometimes quieter or hesitant during free-play; the new equipment truly brings everyone together.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students' excitement was immediate and unforgettable. They crowded around the boxes with wide eyes and constant questions. Their energy and gratitude filled the room. As soon as we brought the items outside, they jumped right into exploring, inventing games, and collaboratively playing.\r\n\r\nThese new resources are already helping us build stronger social-emotional skills, and they will continue to support our focus on teamwork and communication. Our next steps include integrating the equipment into our structured cooperative learning activities and small-group SEL lessons. Students especially enjoyed the extra toss-and-catch games which have always been a hit, and the wagon has made it so much easier to bring everything outside and keep things organized. It's always fun to introduce something new, and having a few fresh options really helped keep students engaged and active during our most recent Recess Reimagined day.\r\n\r\nRecess Reimagined takes place each month, and these materials are helping us build a rotation of games and activities to keep things exciting. For example, the team-building tarp game and lawn darts are great additions that allow for both cooperative play and physical movement. We've started using the new supplies in small groups so students can explore and learn how to use them before introducing them to larger groups.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to continue rotating these materials into our monthly events so students always have something new to look forward to. They are able to sit together in different parts of the classroom with the cozy bean bags, bright yoga seats and cozy rug. They enjoy playing math games at both recess while seated on the bean bags and they like to work as a team on the rug. I really appreciate your donation as I have about 40 students for about 2 hrs a day. The flex seating has been indispensable in the class management as well. Thank you again!!
