Working with students who have severe special needs, especially those with significant sensory processing challenges, I am always searching for tools that truly make a difference. The vibration plate has quickly become one of the most essential resources we use each day.\r\n\r\nFrom the very first time it was introduced, my students were drawn to it. For many of them, regulating their bodies and emotions is a daily challenge. The vibration plate provides calming sensory input, helps with body awareness, and gives them a safe and positive outlet for movement. I have watched students who often struggle to engage light up with excitement as they take their turn. They ask for it often and look forward to the moments when they can use it.\r\n\r\nBeyond the smiles and joy it brings, I've seen genuine progress. Students are better able to focus after using it, their anxiety decreases, and they are more ready to participate in classroom activities. For some, it has even become a way to prevent meltdowns before they start. My students love to practice on worksheets. This is filled with all types of practice and I told them they can skip all over the book and do whatever page they want. Then Rocket Math is a favorite activity which are 40 problem times tests. My students were so excited when they saw the boxes come into the classroom. They immediately wanted to know what goodies we had to add to our class.\r\n\r\nWe had Marker Day for one of our days for Countdown to the End of the School Year. I have included some pictures from that day. I had covered their tables with butcher paper on top and bottom. This allowed them to lay down on their backs and draw masterpieces on the paper. They thought this was the best thing ever! I also put construction paper up in random places throughout the class. They were able to take their makers to write or draw as they wanted.\r\n\r\nMy students used the pens we received during our phonics lessons which are OG or Orton-Gillingham. They loved the \"clicky\" pens and about drove me crazy with the clicking. LOL!
