My students loved having copies of the book and that they did not have to share. It made for very engaged readings of the novel and some in-depth conversations. You will be happy to learn that we have just finished reading the novel and are about to start some end of the novel projects. \r\nMy 8th grade class felt special to have their own copy of the book and have stated that it does make a difference to physically hold a book in their hands and to read. Students could not believe we were able to get copies for all of them and we had a discussion about what it means to give unconditionally and how when one is able to do that, they bring so much joy to others. \r\nI want to personally thank you for giving my students this opportunity and you came through for us so quickly, as soon as I have posted my project on Donors Choose. Students also used the books to practice reading certain parts so they could read out to the class to work on their reading skills. They are so appreciative that they are taking extra good care of the books and treat them well. In addition to practicing reading out loud to the class, students were able to write reflections on pivotal moments and events in the novel.
