My students are using these books to complete an animal research project that connects science, reading, and writing standards through informative writing.\r\n\r\nI intentionally wanted students to choose an animal they were genuinely interested in, because interest builds excitement and motivation. When the books arrived and students first saw them, they were thrilled. They were especially excited to explore the National Geographic books, with their beautiful photographs and kid-friendly, high-quality information. Many students immediately began flipping through pages, pointing out facts, and sharing what they were learning with classmates.\r\n\r\nThese resources are now helping students read closely, take notes, and write informative pieces using real research. Our next steps include organizing our notes, adding text features like headings and diagrams, and publishing our final animal reports to share what we've learned.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous donation.
