Your generosity has given my students so many more opportunities to learn, create, build, play, and work together each day.\r\n\r\nIn first grade, some of the most meaningful learning happens when kids have the chance to use their hands, explore, and learn through play. These materials have allowed me to create more engaging choices for morning bins, classroom stations, indoor recess, Fun Fridays, and those little pockets of our day when students need a chance to reset and connect with one another.\r\n\r\nThe building materials, sensory sand, Play-Doh, magnetic blocks, and stacking activities give my students a creative outlet while also strengthening fine motor skills, problem-solving, and perseverance. The letter blocks allow us to bring literacy skills into hands-on play, and the games give students opportunities to practice taking turns, communicating, following directions, being a good sport, and building friendships.\r\n\r\nWhat I love most is that these aren't materials that will be used once and put away. They are things my students will reach for again and again throughout the year, and they will continue benefiting new groups of first graders for years to come.\r\n\r\nMy classroom is full of little learners with different strengths, interests, and needs, and having a variety of materials like these helps me create a classroom where there is something that makes every child excited to participate. Seeing their faces light up over something as simple as a new building set or game is such a wonderful reminder that play is still such an important part of being six years old.\r\n\r\nThank you for choosing to support my classroom and my students.
