The small group resources you provided have allowed me to differentiate instruction in a much more intentional way. Instead of teaching grammar and writing skills in whole group only, I am now able to pull targeted small groups and meet students exactly where they are. During a recent lesson on parts of speech and sentence structure, I worked with one group on building complete sentences while another group practiced expanding their writing with stronger vocabulary. Watching students confidently correct their own sentences and explain their thinking was a powerful moment for all of us.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were beyond excited. They immediately noticed the colorful organizers, task cards, and hands on activities and kept asking when we could use them. There was a sense of pride in the room knowing that these new tools were just for them. The excitement carried into our lessons, and students were more engaged, more willing to participate, and more determined to master challenging grammar concepts.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are using these resources to strengthen our writing pieces and prepare for more advanced grammar skills. Students are currently working on drafting personal narratives and informational paragraphs, and our next step is focusing on revising for clarity, proper conventions, and stronger sentence structure. Because of your support, my students are not only growing academically but also building grit and confidence as learners. Thank you for helping us create a classroom where every child has the tools they need to shine.","fullyFundedDate":1764599260763,"projectUrl":"project/making-learning-shine-grammar-growth/9795404/","projectTitle":"Making Learning Shine: Grammar, Growth, and Grit in Every Child","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Julian's Joyous Journey to Jaw-Dropping Learning","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9732480_orig.jpg?crop=1015,1015,x387,y81&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725577003647","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9732480"},{"teacherId":9732480,"projectId":9867466,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our after school students are now fueled and focused in ways that truly make a difference. \"Fueling Focus: Snacks for Our After School Learners\" has helped eliminate one of the biggest barriers to learning during our 2:45 to 3:45 tutorial block which is hunger. Instead of students being distracted or low on energy after a full school day, they are now able to settle in, grab a snack, and immediately engage in reading intervention, math practice, and small group instruction. One special moment that stood out was watching a student who typically struggles to stay attentive remain fully engaged during our fraction lesson simply because he had eaten and felt ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snack bins, their faces lit up. They were so grateful and kept saying, \"Is this really for us?\" That moment reminded me how powerful small acts of kindness can be. Your support did not just provide food, it sent a message that they are cared for and supported beyond academics.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are continuing to build stamina and confidence in both reading and math during our after school sessions.
