Your support has provided my students with a resource that will make a meaningful difference in their learning throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nThird grade is such an important year for building vocabulary, strengthening reading comprehension, and becoming more confident writers. Having a dictionary available for every student allows my students to independently look up unfamiliar words, discover new vocabulary, check their spelling, and better understand what they are reading and writing.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things about this gift is that it encourages independence. Instead of immediately asking an adult for the meaning of a word, students can grab their own dictionary, search for the word, and learn how to find the information they need. These are skills they will carry with them far beyond third grade.\r\n\r\nWith 24 dictionaries, every student can have their own copy during lessons and activities. This means we can work together as a class without students having to wait or share. I am especially excited to incorporate the dictionaries into our reading, writing, vocabulary, and word-study activities.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where they have the tools they need to become confident, curious, and independent learners. Your generosity is not just providing books, it is providing opportunities for my students to grow as readers, writers, and lifelong learners.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your support!","fullyFundedDate":1778262229508,"projectUrl":"project/one-book-thousands-of-words/10144086/","projectTitle":"One Book, Thousands of Words","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ryan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7922768_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752877280196","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7922768"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_31895","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":421,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"18.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":89.9,"schoolId":31895,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Explorer Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Explorer Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/goddard-unified-school-district-265/explore-elementary-school/31895"}
