As soon as the students heard about us getting more keyboards, they got excited. When they actually arrived, it's been near impossible to peel them away from them. They have been a consistent part of our curriculum since they came. Our assignments are setup to give students a choice in how they approach it, and ever since, almost every student has opted to demonstrate their understanding of the elements of music by learning a song on piano!\r\n\r\nCurrently, we are working on Final Projects where students once again get a choice of what kind of project they want to do. One of the options is to label the pitches of a chosen piece on piano and then learn how to play it. They have been practicing consistently, and come next week, they will be performing for the class to show how far they've come since keyboards were first introduced. It's been a delight seeing how many students are discovering that they not only CAN play piano, but they deeply enjoy it!
