We use the Little Free Library as part of our daily routine—students love choosing a book to read during independent reading time or taking one home to enjoy with their families. One of my favorite moments was watching a student proudly pick out a book to take home and then come back the next day excited to tell the class all about it.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the Little Free Library, they were thrilled. Their excitement was contagious as they explored the books and talked about which ones they wanted to read. Many of them immediately started asking if they could take books home or bring books back to share with their classmates. It has helped create a sense of responsibility and excitement around reading, and my students feel proud to be part of something they can contribute to and enjoy together.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we are building strong reading habits at an early age. Our next steps include using the Little Free Library to support our reading goals by encouraging students to share book recommendations, practice retelling stories, and build confidence in their reading skills. We will continue to foster a love of reading both at school and at home, and your generosity is what makes that possible.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation, \r\nThank you for making a difference in our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1771378671515,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-books-to-students-a-little-fre/9975918/","projectTitle":"Bringing Books to Students: A Little Free Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wyatt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10394332"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_26474","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":184,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":35,"percentWhite":39,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":16,"gradesServed":"K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"9.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":76.5,"schoolId":26474,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Eunice Smith Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Eunice Smith Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/alton-community-school-district-11/eunice-smith-elementary-school/26474"}
