We were reading Patient Zero by Marilee Peters. The students learned about eight epidemics and pandemics. We explored how they began, spread, and the fight to stop them. \r\n\r\nThis unit complimented what was occurring during the biology unit where the students were learning about how cell production worked for viruses and how healthy plant and animal cells operate. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for the classroom supplies and your support! The students created wanted posters for their virus, where they listed the characteristics of their virus and what the cause and effect would be of their virus if it were to be unleashed. We explored how fast their virus could spread and what healthy hygiene habits could decrease the risk of contracting their virus. The students created a clay miniature replica of their virus which they presented their findings as a speech to the class as the leading epidemiologist of their virus. Thank you so much for your help!
