This has provided us with two class sets of robotics kits for students to use. Currently, just over 50 percent of our 360 students have had the opportunity to participate in a robotics enrichment program during their \"What I Need\" block. Most students have engaged in basic robotics during this time. Some students successfully created robots that calculated both potential and kinetic energy in their science class during the unit on energy. \r\n\tThe students were incredibly excited that our school received these kits. We had borrowed some kits to start our lessons, but they were missing parts. With the introduction of robotics into the classroom, students expressed interest in forming a First Lego Challenge team. With the simple goal of having a robot that could complete a few missions and prepare a presentation, we were elated when we qualified for the State Championship competition hosted at Global Foundries. This was an amazing experience for the students and inspired many of them to form teams for next year.","fullyFundedDate":1736271156286,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-robotics-and-programming-to-our/8817897/","projectTitle":"Bringing Robotics and Programming to our School","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Kasprisin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7175323"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35158","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":385,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":76.1,"schoolId":35158,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Essex Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Essex Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/vermont/essex-westford-school-district/essex-middle-school/35158"}
