We have already begun using the new resources in our lessons, and the difference is remarkable. During a recent project, students used the materials to collaborate, explore new ideas, and engage more deeply with the content. I watched students who are usually quiet become excited participants, eager to share their thinking and contribute to group discussions.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the room was unforgettable. Students were curious, energized, and immediately wanted to explore everything. Many of them expressed how special it felt to have new tools just for their learning. That moment sparked a renewed sense of motivation and ownership in the classroom—students felt seen, supported, and inspired to do their best work.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue building on this momentum by incorporating these resources into ongoing projects and upcoming lessons. Students will be using them to dive deeper into critical thinking activities, hands-on exploration, and collaborative learning experiences. Your support has not only enhanced our current work but has also opened the door to new opportunities for creativity and growth. It has made a positive impact in our classroom!\r\n\r\nFor those who don't know what Teachers Pay Teachers is, it is an online forum for teachers to purchase materials made by other teachers. Many times, state-mandated curriculum only brushes the tip of the iceberg on content. Oftentimes, we need more practice or something different to practice and work with the skills and content taught in our curriculum. That is where TPT comes in. Teachers, in the trenches, who know what other teachers need to teach.\r\n\r\nSo far, I have been able to purchase Christmas resources for a study on Holidays Around the World, Language Arts material to supplement our lower learners, and hands-on Math activities to go along with our units. It has been a game-changer! I look forward to more purchases in the future to further supplement my students' learning.","fullyFundedDate":1764728838681,"projectUrl":"project/teaching-with-teachers-pay-teachers/9530879/","projectTitle":"Teaching With Teachers Pay Teachers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McFall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2390795_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534950104024","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsmcfall"},{"teacherId":9927725,"projectId":9801015,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our 2nd grade classroom now has an additional incubator, and it has completely transformed how my students experience science. We are using the incubator as part of a life cycles and habitats unit, where students are observing eggs develop day by day. Having a second incubator has allowed us to involve every student more actively—small groups take turns checking temperatures, recording observations, and making predictions in their science journals. One especially meaningful moment was when a student noticed subtle changes in the eggs and excitedly connected it to something we had read in a nonfiction text. Science truly came alive in that moment.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new incubator, their reaction was pure excitement and curiosity. There were lots of wide eyes, big smiles, and questions like, \"When will they hatch?\" and \"Can we watch them every day?\" The incubator immediately became the most talked-about part of our classroom, and students couldn't wait to take responsibility for caring for the eggs and learning what it means to observe living things respectfully.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our next steps include continuing to track the chicks' growth, writing reflective responses about what we observe, and connecting our learning to reading and writing lessons. Students will compare their predictions to what actually happens, create simple diagrams, and share what they've learned with classmates and families. Your donation didn't just provide equipment—it gave my students a hands-on learning experience they will remember for years to come. Thank you for giving us this incredible opportunity to learn together.","fullyFundedDate":1763568123701,"projectUrl":"project/providing-for-our-community/9801015/","projectTitle":"Providing For Our Community","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Souleyrette","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9927725_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1772753690548","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9927725"},{"teacherId":9927725,"projectId":9233122,"letterContent":"The moment our new incubator arrived, my students gathered around it with wide eyes and endless questions. They were amazed that they would get to witness every stage of life—from egg to hatchling—right inside our classroom. We immediately began setting up our observation journals, and the excitement was contagious. Students who are usually quiet were suddenly sharing predictions, sketching diagrams, and asking thoughtful scientific questions. This project turned our room into a small laboratory full of curiosity and wonder.\r\n\r\nWe used the incubator daily during our life cycles unit, and the experience was unforgettable. Each morning, a different student took on the role of \"egg caretaker,\" checking temperature, turning logs, and recording changes for the class. Out of the 24 eggs we placed inside, 19 were fertilized—and an amazing 17 hatched into healthy chicks. Watching those first tiny cracks appear and hearing the students cheer each new arrival was a moment I will never forget. The incubator also allowed us to create cross-curricular connections as students wrote detailed observation paragraphs in language arts and graphed hatch data in math.\r\n\r\nSince the chicks have hatched, we have cared for them daily and monitored their growth as a class. Students helped clean the brooder, track weight changes, and ensure each chick was healthy and thriving. We recently rehomed the chicks safely within our community, and the students took great pride in knowing they helped raise them from day one. Thanks to your generosity, we are already planning a large-scale hatch this spring, where even more students will be able to participate in this hands-on scientific experience. Your support didn't just provide a resource—you helped create a powerful learning opportunity that sparked responsibility, curiosity, and real-world science in every student. Thank you for making this unforgettable project possible.","fullyFundedDate":1758234261946,"projectUrl":"project/mr-souleyrettes-classroom-incubator-pr/9233122/","projectTitle":"Mr. Souleyrette’s Classroom Incubator Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Souleyrette","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9927725_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1772753690548","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9927725"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33689","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":667,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":96,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"66.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":66.0,"schoolId":33689,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ridgeview Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ridgeview Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/dickenson-county-school-district/ervinton-elementary-school/33689"}
