Because of your generosity, our students were able to engage in an exciting hands-on learning experience exploring how electrical circuits work and how energy flows to power everyday life.\r\nWe are a small K–12 school with approximately 900 students total, and my gifted classes represent just 0.04% of that population. While we are small in number, we are big in curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. Opportunities like this are especially meaningful in a rural school setting, where access to hands-on STEM materials can be limited.\r\nThrough this project, students didn't just read about circuits—they built them, tested them, and problem-solved when things didn't work the first time. They experienced the \"aha\" moments that come from discovery-based learning. Watching them light up (literally and figuratively) as their circuits came together was a powerful reminder of how impactful hands-on STEM education can be.\r\nOur students thrive when they are given the chance to explore, create, and think like scientists and engineers. Experiences like this help them develop critical thinking skills, perseverance, and confidence in their ability to solve real-world problems. These are skills that extend far beyond the classroom and will serve them for years to come.\r\nWe are especially grateful to you—people across the United States who chose to invest in students you may never meet. Your willingness to share your hard-earned resources makes a direct difference in classrooms like ours. In a small school community, that impact is deeply felt and never taken for granted.\r\nBecause of you, our students are not just learning about science—they are experiencing it.","fullyFundedDate":1770308680442,"projectUrl":"project/building-thinkers-one-circuit-at-a-time/10068952/","projectTitle":"Building Thinkers, One Circuit at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lacie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9036937_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769835844454","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9036937"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_14644","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":694,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":36.2,"schoolId":14644,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Enterprise School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Enterprise School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/lincoln-county-school-district/enterprise-school/14644"}
