The tables have made it much easier for students to work together during math lessons, especially when solving multi-step problems, using manipulatives, and explaining their strategies to their classmates. Instead of working separately at individual desks, students can now discuss their thinking, compare strategies, and help one another when a problem becomes challenging.\r\nAs we continue through fifth-grade math, we will use our tables for small-group instruction, collaborative problem-solving, math games, and hands-on activities. We immediately put these tools to use during our daily reading lessons—having the camera mounted on the standing desk makes it seamless to project text passages, model annotation strategies, and zoom in on key vocabulary or text features in real time without blocking anyone's line of sight.\r\n\r\nDuring guided reading and group discussions, students bring their own work up to the station, stand comfortably, and share their reading responses directly with their peers. Seeing their own work displayed on the screen has given them a huge boost in confidence and participation. Looking ahead, our next step is to have students take the lead at the standing desk during complex text analysis, using the camera to demonstrate context clue and main idea strategies for the class.
