The impact on my students was immediate. Just knowing that the project had the students excited and planning on how to use the ordered supplies with daily updates requested on what had arrived each day. Students are already using many of the supplies to build small robots, design and improve solar powered cars, make videos and podcasts about issues around the school and to encourage other students to try their hand at engineering and art. Knowing that people are willing to invest in their goals really encouraged students to push themselves and use what was donated. Students are volunteering to come in before school, during lunch as well as stay after so that they have more time to work and so that they can bring their friends long to try some projects as well. Having more supplies has allowed me to reach more students and keep more students engaged because I did not have ration tools and have students rotate on who got to use certain tools each day. I am also able to have a two different robotic teams this year due to the donations. Previously I only had the money for one team and no idea how to get the supplies for a second. Having two teams worth of supplies has really motived more students to become involved in the group and participate. The costume design team is busy brainstorming and has recruited students from the film production club and theater to join them! It is wonderful to see students so excited about what they are working on that other students get excited too. Thank you. One of the projects is already up and running and your donations have made a huge impact already. \r\n\r\nTwo of my students are working with raising zebra fish and had been trying to breed the ones we already have with only minimal success. I had bought them the cheap $15 dollar breeding tank that I found on Amazon but they were only getting 10-20 eggs at a time when they should be getting 100 - 200. On their very first try with the much more expensive tank funded with this donation, they had over 300 eggs successfully collected and on their second try over 200. This has allowed the students to move forward with their project much more quickly than expected and has made two other student groups intended projects feasible! I cannot adequately express the difference that your donations have made. \r\n\r\nAdditional items that were part of this campaign are also helping students prepare for their projects or will be used as the eggs that are successfully growing reach a size where they need a larger tank, filter ect. It is so much easier for me to support more students doing fish and fruit fly based projects now that I have more of the supplies available.
