When the boxes started arriving, it was like Christmas. They were excited to see what was in each box. One of the first were the binders. Most students do not have or families cannot afford to purchase this item. It helps with their organization of papers and projects. They labeled the tabs of our subjects and they can now find things easily.\r\n\r\nThe next material was the wooden calendar. Students always ask, \"what day is it?\" Instead of coming to me, they now have an interactive tool to keep track of the day of the week, the date, month, year, and season! This one is a big hit!\r\n\r\nWe do a trail mix every year for Valentine's Day, or as Montessorians refer to the Day of Love. Using the measuring cups were the perfect tools to use to measure ingredients from their recipe cards. The cups are also used as another resource with the fraction materials in the classroom. \r\n\r\nThese were the student highlights and we are thrilled to have been funded!","fullyFundedDate":1732923817791,"projectUrl":"project/basic-classroom-needs/8633727/","projectTitle":"Basic Classroom Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Burgess","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9173694"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_122171","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":393,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":88,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":48.4,"schoolId":122171,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Emerson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Emerson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/tulsa-public-schools/emerson-elementary-public-montessori-school-2018-/122171"}
