Many times I have seen wonderful moments of teamwork, problem solving, and cooperation without arguing and frustration. This was a huge impact as we switched to during teamwork for other learning opportunities in writing and reading. \r\n\r\nWhen I first brought out the games, they were so excited and it help create big incentives for the class to work hard so they could play games for their hard work. Starting in 2nd grade, the students have asked repeatedly when we get to play with the marble maze, and the circuit maker. The students are excited about the materials and they are so easy to tie into subjects we teach. They forget they are learning and enjoy their moments in class with each other. \r\n\r\nCurrently we have only used a few games in 2nd grade, but as the year advances my hope is to use the games to increase speed for math. The students have a hard time \r\nwith math facts, so we will be using the games to increase speed and quick thinking. I love how easily it can tie into comprehension and reading as well. The puzzles have been a great resource to reward the class with a puzzle piece that they get to put into the puzzle for every question the answer correct in our comprehension units. Its been such a fun way to engage my students and motivate thinking minds. \r\n\r\nI sincerely thank you for your gift of giving!","fullyFundedDate":1742497839493,"projectUrl":"project/boosting-problem-solving-and-creativity/9126126/","projectTitle":"Boosting Problem-Solving and Creativity: STEM Games to Inspire Future Thinkers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Erickson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8294196"},{"teacherId":8884013,"projectId":9244032,"letterContent":"Wow, wow, wow! The dry-erase markers, sock erasers, and the dry-erase pockets have been used nearly every day since they arrived! We use them often in phonics to practice identifying syllable types. We also use them in math. Last week, we learned how to round to the nearest ten and the nearest hundred. I printed off blank number lines and put them in the sleeves. This allowed students to practice finding the nearest tens numbers and hundreds numbers, and then label the number line instead of spending time trying to space out the lines on a number line evenly. They got more time to practice the most important skills, and by the end of the week, my students understood rounding better than in any previous year. \r\n\r\nI am so grateful to have enough markers to replace dried and lost ones. Thank you for solving the problem of having an unusable marker. I used to have to take time to grab a paper and find a pencil for students when their markers weren't working. Pencils make it harder to see their work from the front of the classroom. Now I save time every day by handing them a new marker and being able to check their work quickly from anywhere in the classroom. \r\n\r\nThank you for the impact you have made on our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1742921418771,"projectUrl":"project/write-solve-share-empowering-students/9176333/","projectTitle":"Write, Solve, Share: Empowering Students With Space to Show Work","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ortega","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8884013_orig.jpg?crop=903,903,x163,y352&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739633391992","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8884013"},{"teacherId":8884013,"projectId":9115518,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donation to our classroom! At the beginning of this school year, students were asking about them at back-to-school night and were excited to come on the first day for a chance to use them. \r\n\r\nDuring a math lesson last week, I had a student who was having a difficult time participating in the lesson.
