They had been asking for weeks when we would finally get the equipment, so when they saw the boxes being rolled into the gym, their faces lit up with pure joy. As we unpacked everything, they eagerly helped set up the nets and couldn't wait to grab a paddle or racket. The first day we played was full of laughter, encouragement, and friendly competition. Students who are sometimes hesitant to participate in physical activities were suddenly stepping forward, eager to serve and rally with their classmates. It was a beautiful reminder that the right resources can spark motivation and confidence in every student.\r\n\r\nThese new materials have transformed our PE lessons by adding variety, excitement, and new learning opportunities. We've been using the pickleball and badminton equipment to teach hand-eye coordination, teamwork, communication, and lifelong fitness skills. Students are learning to strategize, problem-solve, and support one another—skills that extend far beyond the gym. I've seen incredible growth in their sportsmanship and collaboration; they cheer for one another, celebrate improvements, and handle challenges with positivity. Several students have even told me they've asked their families to look for pickleball courts nearby because they want to keep playing outside of school. That kind of enthusiasm and carryover into their personal lives shows just how meaningful this project has been.\r\n\r\nThis project has done more than bring new games to our gym—it's created an environment where students feel capable, included, and proud of what they can achieve. Thank you for believing in my students and helping me give them the opportunity to experience the joy of learning and moving together.","fullyFundedDate":1757768449317,"projectUrl":"project/rally-together-bringing-pickleball-and/9663289/","projectTitle":"Rally Together: Bringing Pickleball and Badminton to PE","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mitchell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8632589_orig.jpg?crop=1131,1131,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1660918844868","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8632589"},{"teacherId":9870036,"projectId":8999297,"letterContent":"I know this response may find you after the required date. The time and collective fundraising effort that your generous donation has saved cannot be overstated. \r\n\r\nMy students are using the new robot to compete in a virtual robotics competition!
