These items have already brought tremendous joy and excitement to our students, creating opportunities for us to host inclusive and engaging events right in our own space. The grill has allowed us to share meals together, turning ordinary days into fun community experiences, while the karaoke speaker has provided endless laughter and encouragement as students take turns singing their favorite songs.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these donations have helped many of our students come out of their shells in ways we hadn't seen before. The fun and supportive atmosphere these items have created has encouraged self-expression, boosted confidence, and built stronger connections among peers. We are truly grateful for your kindness and support—it has made a lasting impact on our classroom and will continue to enrich the lives of our students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1746849102986,"projectUrl":"project/chill-grill/9264580/","projectTitle":"Chill & Grill!!!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Young","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9719064_orig.jpg?crop=1096,1096,x0,y14&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732000104895","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9719064"},{"teacherId":9719064,"projectId":8953507,"letterContent":"Since receiving our new resources, my students have been using them with great enthusiasm and care. When the supplies first arrived, their excitement was immediate and heartfelt. They were thrilled to see tools and materials that supported both learning and fun. These resources have allowed us to create a more inclusive and engaging classroom environment where students feel equipped, confident, and valued. From sensory tools to learning aids, each item has contributed to improving focus, communication, and participation during daily lessons.\r\n\r\nThe positive impact has extended beyond the classroom as well. Thanks to the new materials, we were able to attend the Special Olympics and visit the zoo comfortably, just like other school sites. These experiences were not only enjoyable, but they also helped build social skills, independence, and confidence among our students. Looking ahead, we are excited for the many more fun and meaningful events we now have the ability to plan for this year and next. Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in our learning environment, and I am excited to share the positive impact it has had on my special needs students.\r\n\r\nSince the carpet was installed, our classroom has become a more welcoming and comfortable space for learning, exploration, and connection. Many of my students struggle with sensory sensitivities, and having a soft, cozy area has given them a safe place to sit, play, and engage in activities without discomfort. This simple addition has transformed our daily routines. Students now eagerly gather for group lessons, story time, and social interactions, feeling secure and at ease in their environment.\r\n\r\nBeyond comfort, the carpet has also fostered a sense of community. It has become a central hub for collaboration, where students practice communication skills, build friendships, and participate in hands-on learning experiences. The impact goes beyond just a physical upgrade; it has truly enriched their emotional well-being and ability to focus, making their educational journey more enjoyable and successful.","fullyFundedDate":1731940468968,"projectUrl":"project/new-classroom-center-piece-carpet/8728077/","projectTitle":"New Classroom Center Piece Carpet","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Young","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9719064_orig.jpg?crop=1096,1096,x0,y14&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732000104895","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9719064"},{"teacherId":8988510,"projectId":8921995,"letterContent":"First and foremost, thank you for your support. Instead of just rewarding students with flexible seating automatically, students have to behave properly and follow expectations in order to be able to use the bean bags. Students are now more focused because of this and willing to engage in the lessons. At lunch, students come into my room to just hang out and have been very animated about the addition of bean bags into my classroom. \r\n When my students first saw the materials (bean bags and fidget bands for their chairs), they were thrilled. I told them what my plans were about adding some flexible seating options into my classroom, so their first words were, \"Finally!\". They immediately began asking me when they could use them, if they can be used regularly or only on Fun Fridays, etc. \r\n My next step for my SPED students is for them to engage and socialize amongst each other more, and with their general ed peers. By doing this, we will move one step closer towards the inclusive campus that we're striving for.","fullyFundedDate":1731940491260,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-life-skills/8921995/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Life Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Cofield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8988510_orig.jpg?crop=1284,1284,x0,y291&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1679426865417","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrcofield"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_62404","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":696,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":20,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":65,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"25.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.9,"schoolId":62404,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Elizabeth Terronez Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Elizabeth Terronez Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/fresno-unified-school-district/elizabeth-terronez-middle-school/62404"}
