We introduced the hydroponics and aquaponics systems during our ecosystems unit, and students immediately began observing plant roots, water flow, and how living things depend on one another. One of our first projects involved predicting which plants would grow fastest and why, then tracking changes over time through drawings, measurements, and class discussions. Students also use the math games and tools during centers to practice problem solving and reasoning, often explaining their thinking to classmates. The LEGO building sets and circuit kits have become a favorite during STEM time, where students design structures, test ideas, troubleshoot problems, and learn that mistakes are part of the learning process.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was instant. Students gathered around the boxes, asking questions, making predictions, and eagerly volunteering to help set everything up. Seeing real systems they could touch and explore made learning feel exciting and meaningful, especially for students who thrive with hands on experiences. Several students shared that it felt like having a science lab right in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, students now feel like real scientists and engineers.
