Because of you, my students now have access to new texts and a student-centered magazine that are already making a meaningful difference in their learning. The videos on Brainpop and the articles and lessons within Storyworks are helping students build essential skills such as reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and critical thinking, while also encouraging them to make connections, ask thoughtful questions, and develop empathy for characters and perspectives that may be different from their own.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is always an active and joyful experience; but adding Brainpop and Storyworks has added an increased level of engagement and enthusiasm about the content I am teaching. Students spend time reading independently, working in small groups, and participating in class discussions where they share ideas, favorite moments, and new words they've learned. The new articles have brought fresh energy into our reading time—students are eager to read, and excited to talk about stories with their peers. The videos help build enthusiasm about the content I and teaching, and the quizzes that accompany the videos are perfect to revisit concepts the students are learning.\r\n\r\nSeveral students, especially those who were previously reluctant readers, have been especially enthusiastic about the new books. I've seen students who once struggled to stay focused now asking for extra reading time and proudly recommending books to classmates. The entire class is benefiting from high-interest texts that are finding stories they can connect with, which has boosted both their confidence and enjoyment of reading. Your support has truly helped foster a love of reading in our classroom, and we are incredibly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1759518411488,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-learning-to-life-with-brainpop/9758586/","projectTitle":"Bringing Learning to Life With BrainPOP and Storyworks!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Strom","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4162563"},{"teacherId":9018895,"projectId":9856422,"letterContent":"There is nothing as special as watching students do hands-on science. We are so lucky at El Rincon that we can do that every school day, from transitional kindergarten to fifth grade. \r\n\r\nThis year, fifth grade did a new lab about cells and the difference between animal cells and plant cells. They made their own wet slides using cheek cells and onion skin and iodine as a dye and viewed them through 3 different lenses on the microscopes. \r\n\r\nWatching these \"ah ha!\" moments is why we do what we do.
