A listening center will help develop their independent reading skills so they can learn to read on their own, while having fun. Students learn to love reading in Kindergarten and they do that first by listening to stories that are engaging. Every week the students will be able to listen to a new story in a small group and share what they learned from the story with their peers. They will also hear what good reader sounds like when reading aloud. The inflections and expressions will help them understand how to read with emotion and get others excited to listen to them read.
