The cameras you donated have transformed our Genius Hour club, The Photo Den, into an exciting, hands-on learning experience. Students are not just snapping pictures; they're learning about composition, lighting, editing, and storytelling. Technology that once felt out of reach is now a tool they use with confidence and creativity. It's incredible to see how much ownership and pride they take in capturing and improving their photos.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been seeing their photos come to life during editing. They love experimenting with filters, adjusting brightness, and discovering how small changes can completely transform an image. Every session, the room buzzes with excitement and curiosity as they compare shots, share tips, and cheer for each other's work. It's a joy to watch them become more thoughtful observers of the world around them.\r\n\r\nSome of my quieter students, who often shy away from speaking up in class, have truly shone with this new technology. One student, who rarely volunteers in group activities, proudly presented a photo series of nature around our school, which sparked a new sense of confidence in them. These cameras have done more than teach photography; they've given my students a voice and a new way to express their creativity.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make this experience possible!","fullyFundedDate":1757428076159,"projectUrl":"project/cameras-for-genius-hour/9691828/","projectTitle":"Cameras for Genius Hour","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Romero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8560730_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689014497564","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8560730"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75362","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":350,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":89,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.3,"schoolId":75362,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edward Gonzales Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Edward Gonzales Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/albuquerque-public-schools/edward-gonzales-elementary-school/75362"}
