They used them for gifts and to remember their friends they made this year. \r\nThey were so excited to work on this art lesson as their creative was unleashed. Some even made Spurs colored bracelets to show their support for the San Antonio Spurs!\r\nThis was such a fun art lesson they came in asking for after the first day of students walked around showing what they had created.\r\nThe magna tiles were especially engaging as they enjoy getting the opportunity to build. We already had some LEGO pieces in our classroom, so being able to add to our supply felt like a huge upgrade for them. As soon as they saw the new sets, their excitement filled the room. Many students immediately started talking about what they hoped to build and how they could work together to create something new.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the LEGO sets to practice an important skill—following step-by-step instructions. My students worked carefully through the building guides, paying close attention to each step and checking their progress along the way. It was amazing to watch them stay focused, help one another, and celebrate when their creations finally came together. For many of my students, completing a build independently after following each step was a big confidence boost.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our classroom LEGO center is now even more engaging and meaningful. The added pieces allow more students to participate at the same time and give us the opportunity to introduce more complex builds and STEM challenges. Moving forward, students will continue practicing sequencing, problem-solving, and teamwork while designing their own creations. The fidgets gave students an outlet to release nervous energy, refocus, and feel more in control of their emotions. The energy in the room shifted instantly — students felt engaged, safe, and ready to explore.\r\n\r\nWe've already seen these resources make a real difference in the classroom. During a recent group activity, a student who usually struggles with focus used the fidget to stay calm and complete a challenging LEGO engineering challenge, collaborating with teammates and celebrating their success. The sensory lamp has also become a go-to spot for students who need a brief pause to reset before jumping back into learning. It's amazing to see students recognize their own needs and use these tools to regulate themselves, build confidence, and engage more fully in lessons.\r\n\r\nThanks to these materials, our calm-down center has become more than just a quiet space — it's now a hub for creativity, problem-solving, and emotional growth.
