We also have coloring sheets that give students a quiet activity to focus on while they calm their minds and bodies.\r\n\r\nYour donations also provided organizers for our collection of fidgets and mental health resources. Having these materials organized and easily accessible makes a huge difference. In my Spanish classes, color is an important instructional tool because so much of language learning is connected to visuals, culture, geography, and authentic resources. With this printer, I will be able to create colorful vocabulary cards, cultural infographics, maps, reading activities, task cards, station activities, games, student project materials, and classroom displays without relying on limited school printing resources. Students will also be able to design and print projects such as travel brochures, cultural posters, restaurant menus, country profiles, album covers, advertisements, infographics, and visual presentations. Having a dedicated printer and stand in the classroom will make it much easier to turn student ideas into polished products they can proudly display and share.\r\n\r\nThe printer will also have a tremendous impact on both Spanish Club and Spanish Honor Society. These organizations rely on student participation, schoolwide visibility, and communication, and having access to color printing will allow students to create professional-looking advertising materials for meetings, cultural celebrations, service projects, fundraisers, recruitment events, and special activities. Students can design colorful posters, flyers, signs, invitations, certificates, event programs, QR-code displays, bulletin board materials, and promotional materials to place throughout the school. Spanish Honor Society students will also be able to create materials for induction ceremonies, community service projects, tutoring programs, cultural awareness campaigns, and recognition displays. Instead of simply announcing an event, students will be able to design materials that attract attention, communicate a clear message, and help build excitement around our programs.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this printer will give students more opportunities to create rather than simply complete. They will be able to see their digital designs become real products that can be displayed in the classroom, hallways, and throughout the school. It will support creativity, collaboration, communication, technology skills, and student ownership while allowing me to develop more engaging instructional resources for multiple classes and organizations. The printer stand will provide a permanent, organized location for the printer and supplies, making this resource easily accessible and practical for everyday use. This project is much more than providing a piece of classroom equipment—it is providing students with a tool that will help bring their learning, creativity, cultures, clubs, and ideas to life. I am incredibly grateful to the donors who are making these new opportunities possible for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1787749788939,"projectUrl":"project/color-their-world-bring-learning-to-lif/10532668/","projectTitle":"Color their World: Bring Learning to Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Garrett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5233085_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y103&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1786812453663","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/paige-garrett"},{"teacherId":5233085,"projectId":10495543,"letterContent":"Having a classroom library has had a meaningful impact on how I teach and engage my students. Instead of books being something we use only during a specific reading assignment, they have become an everyday resource that allows me to create more interactive, creative, and student-centered lessons. One of the most successful activities has been the One-Pager, in which students choose a book or reading selection and demonstrate their understanding through key quotes, vocabulary, illustrations, themes, and personal connections. We have also used the books for \"Continue the Story\" activities, in which students read part of a text and then use their comprehension, creativity, and writing skills to predict what might happen next. Having books readily available in the classroom gives students choices and allows me to design activities that feel much more authentic than working only from worksheets or a textbook.\r\n\r\nThe library has also enabled us to build a stronger reading community through activities such as the Read With Me circle reading. Students can sit together, share a book, take turns reading aloud, discuss what is happening, and help one another work through unfamiliar words or confusing passages. For students who are hesitant readers, this type of activity makes reading feel more social and less intimidating. I have used the books not only in my Spanish classes, where students can explore language, culture, vocabulary, and storytelling, but also in my Effective Learning Strategies: Reading class. That class serves students who need additional support with reading, so having a variety of books available at different interest and ability levels has been especially valuable. Students can practice fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, summarizing, making predictions, identifying important information, and discussing a text using real books rather than isolated passages.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, having a classroom library has given my students greater access to reading and has given me many more opportunities to make reading engaging. I can now build lessons around student choice, encourage independent reading, create collaborative activities, and place a book directly in a student's hands when I see an opportunity to make a connection. For some students, simply having books available in the room means they are reading more often than they otherwise would. The library has become a resource that crosses subject areas and supports both literacy and language development every day. I am incredibly grateful to all the donors for helping make this possible. Your support has not simply provided books for a classroom. It has expanded what I am able to teach, how I am able to teach it, and the opportunities my students have to grow as readers, thinkers, and learners.","fullyFundedDate":1786970184132,"projectUrl":"project/the-multilingual-library-of-mrs-garrett/10495543/","projectTitle":"The Multilingual Library of Mrs. Garrett","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Garrett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5233085_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y103&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1786812453663","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/paige-garrett"},{"teacherId":8546134,"projectId":10221620,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! These resources have completely revolutionized our daily environment, allowing my high school geometry and precalculus students to thrive in ways that were previously impossible.\r\n\r\nMany people use 3D printers at home for hobbies, printing small toys, or making decorative items. In our high school mathematics classroom, however, this technology serves a deeply educational and transformation purpose. High school mathematics, particularly geometry, trigonometry, and calculus foundations, requires a massive amount of spatial reasoning. For decades, teachers have had to rely on flat, two-dimensional textbook drawings or chalkboard sketches to represent complex three-dimensional objects. For many students, trying to understand concepts like cross-section, rotating solids, or polyhedrons from a flat piece of paper is incredibly frustrating. The 3D printer bridges this gap perfectly. It allows us to take abstract algebraic equations and geometric proofs out of the digital or print world and manifest them into physical reality. The most exciting part of this new technology for my students is the sheer wonder of watching a mathematical concept materialize right before their eyes. They are absolutely fascinated by the printing process itself. They love seeing how a digital design on a computer screen slowly transforms layer by layer into a tangible object that they can pass around the room.\r\n\r\nThere is an undeniable spark of curiosity that lights up the classroom whenever the printer is running. When we study geometric solids, students are no longer just looking at a formula for volume or surface area; they are holding the actual shape in their hands, counting its faces, tracing its edges, and feeling its dimensions. This tactile experience makes the math stick in their minds much faster and deeper than a traditional lecture ever could.\r\n\r\nWhile the 3D printer inspires their creativity, our new cell phone docking station provides the structural support they need to actually focus on that inspiration. In today's digital age, cell phones are a constant source of temptation and distraction for high schoolers. \r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your support and your belief in our potential.
