Your kindness has made a tremendous difference in our classroom, and I am thrilled to share the impact your gift has had on our students.\r\n\r\nThe novels you provided have greatly enhanced student reading and engagement. Having access to high-quality, exciting literature has inspired a genuine love of reading in many of our students. Books that they can hold, explore, and discuss have created a new level of enthusiasm during our reading time. Students are more motivated to read independently, and we have seen their reading stamina, comprehension, and confidence grow noticeably.\r\n\r\nThanks to these materials, we were able to accomplish several important goals in teaching, reading, and novel studies. We launched small group book clubs where students practiced deeper discussion skills, analyzed characters, and explored themes. We completed full-class novel studies that allowed students to engage in critical thinking activities, compare different texts, and strengthen their writing skills through response projects. We were also able to differentiate instruction more effectively by matching students with novels that fit their reading levels and interests, ensuring that every student was challenged and supported.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these novels turned reading into a shared, joyful experience that built community within our classroom. Students began recommending books to each other, asking thoughtful questions, and viewing themselves as real readers.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your incredible support. Your generosity has opened doors for our students, and the lessons and love for reading they have gained will stay with them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1744233646463,"projectUrl":"project/reader-need-to-read/9045401/","projectTitle":"Reader Need to Read!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Perez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1469142_orig.jpg?crop=1000,1000,x164,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596782298691","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-dperez"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_92993","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":345,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":97,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":92993,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Edison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/santa-ana-unified-school-district/edison-elementary-school/92993"}
