Our team vision is to allow for a place for sensory and emotional regulation for approximately 500 kindergarten through fifth grade students in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Our school also includes two primary Autistic Support classrooms and multiple Learning Support classrooms. A designated area for gross motor regulation was an identified need by all of our staff and many of our families. \r\n\r\nThe room is still in the early stages of being fully functional; however, the resources provided thorugh Donors Choose are already being utilized. Students show excitement as soon as they see the unique sensory tools in the classroom, including a trampoline, tunnel, stepping stones, and yoga mat. We hope to have a sensory swing available in the near future. In addition to the resources provided by Donors Choose, students have access to whiteboards, art materials, scooters, stationary pedals, and sensory-sensitive lighting in this setting. A classroom television allows for soothing music and brian breaks, such as Go Noodle, to be utilized with ease. \r\n\r\nWe will continue to add to this valuable space within our school.
