They were so excited when they first saw it, they were all thankful they did not have to stay in their seats all day and could come closer to the board when they needed to. Magnetic tiles and building blocks have also been something my kids have been so excited about all year. We call them stem bins and it's our time to calm down and incorporate stem every morning when we come in. My kids know this is now part of their daily routine and genuinely enjoy using these toys. The glue sticks are used often and kept at each table in their table caddy's. And of course, the books Iv'e received have been nothing short of entertaining and fascinating for my students. My students love reading and the books I received have been so fun for them to read. They are always so excited when they get to go that reading corner. Copy paper was another item in this donation and I am especially thankful for this donation. Students don't necessarily notice how critical paper is for everyday and how much paper is needed throughout the school year. Iv'e incorporated the soccer ball fidget spinners into my treasure box, which students go to every Friday if they have a specific number of dojo points. \r\n\r\nThe carpet sweeper has been an absolute life saver since I got it. My carpet would not be clean without it. I am out in a trailer and students always come in and their shoes have mud/dirt on them from being outside. As soon as they step on the carpet, it gets dirty and if it wasn't for the carpet sweeper, I truly think it would have had to be thrown out by now. This would have been extremely difficult considering how expensive classroom rugs are. This carpet sweeper has helped make my life so much easier and I am so thankful. The disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer are also used by myself and my students constantly.","fullyFundedDate":1755868029652,"projectUrl":"project/new-second-grade-classroom-starting-fre/9486861/","projectTitle":"New Second Grade Classroom: Starting Fresh","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nasser","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10087405"},{"teacherId":10293006,"projectId":9770884,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support in helping us bring a brand-new mobile library cart to our elementary school. Because of you, our students now have easier, more joyful access to books wherever they are in the building — and it has already made a remarkable impact.\r\n\r\nThe mobile cart has become a daily staple in our Media Center and throughout the school. I've been able to bring curated collections directly into classrooms for supplemental checkouts, themed lessons, and quick access to books for students who need fresh reading material. Teachers love that the cart allows the library to meet students right where they are, and students are excited every time it rolls through the door.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was visiting a kindergarten classroom for a read-aloud and checkout session. Their faces lit up the moment the cart entered the room — several students immediately pointed and whispered, \"The library is here!\" After the story, they eagerly browsed the shelves, choosing books independently and proudly showing their friends their picks. Seeing our youngest learners connect so deeply with books in their own classroom was truly unforgettable.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the cart, their excitement was instant. Hands shot up, voices buzzed with curiosity, and many asked if the cart would come to their classroom next. They were amazed to see how many books they could explore without even leaving the room. Their enthusiasm has only grown since that first day!\r\n\r\nMoving forward, the mobile library cart will be visiting more classrooms more frequently as we continue integrating it into our weekly schedule. I'll be restocking the cart based on student requests and interests, making sure every visit feels fresh and tailored to their reading needs. Additionally, our Student Media Helpers will now assist with restocking, organizing, and helping the cart travel from room to room — giving them ownership, leadership experience, and pride in supporting our school community.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our school, our students, and the power of literacy. We are so excited to have it, and it has already made a big difference in our room. The rug is comfortable, inviting, and it gives us a special place to learn together.\r\n We use the rug in many ways throughout the day. During reading time, we gather on the rug to listen to stories, share books with partners, and enjoy quiet moments with our favorite characters. The rug makes reading time feel cozy and fun. \r\n We also use the rug during centers and small group activities. It helps us stay organized and gives us space to work with friends. Whether we are collaborating on an assignment, or playing a word game the rug is the perfect spot for us to learn and collaborate.\r\n Most importantly, the rug has given us a sense of community. When we sit together on it for morning meetings or class discussions, we feel connected. It reminds us that we are all part of the same team, learning and growing together.\r\n We are so grateful for your kindness and generosity. These kits, filled with sensory items such as stress balls, fidget toys, textured fabrics, and calming visuals, are now an integral part of our students' daily emotional regulation and social-emotional learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the kits, their faces lit up with curiosity and excitement. One particularly memorable moment was when a student who often struggles with anxiety reached for a squishy stress ball during a tough moment, took a few deep breaths, and then said, \"This helps me feel better.\" That simple interaction spoke volumes about the power of these tools. Many students have since expressed how these items help them calm down, refocus, and feel safe—especially during emotionally overwhelming times.\r\n\r\nIn the classroom, teachers are using the kits proactively, incorporating them into daily routines and teaching students how to self-regulate. In the counseling office, they're used to support more individualized strategies. As we look ahead, our next step is to guide students in developing personalized calming strategies. They'll each create their own \"Coping Strategy Booklet\"—a visual tool listing techniques and preferred sensory items they can use when feeling overwhelmed. We're also planning to integrate mindfulness practices and peer support opportunities, using the kits as a springboard for broader social-emotional learning.","fullyFundedDate":1741976073641,"projectUrl":"project/calm-down-kits-for-elementary-classrooms/9110007/","projectTitle":"Calm Down Kits for Elementary Classrooms","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3481132_orig.jpg?crop=276,276,x0,y40&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1575212159381","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3481132"},{"teacherId":3498121,"projectId":8806610,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible support, our classroom has been transformed!
