Struggling learners need direct explicit instruction that scaffolds their learning and is intentional at filling in the gaps. In order to support students in grades K-6 with their reading goals my school uses an online program called Lexia. This program is adaptive and meets the needs of all learners. Sometimes the work seems overwhelming and just plan hard for students who struggle with Reading. Students that are motivated tend to complete work that is challenging in order to achieve their goals because they receive a prize at the end. \r\nBecause of your generosity my students are intrinsically motivated to complete their lessons and meet the challenges they face in Reading head on. They are persistent and eager to complete their lessons in order to get the rewards you have provided. It might seem like a small gesture, but it has an enormous impact on students growth and achievement.
