They're able to touch something that gives sensory input and also a calming motion of the infinity sign. \r\n\r\nThe straps on the chairs also help students who might have to move their body or make sound in order to focus and it's a safe way for them to use their chairs to help them stay active while still moving their bodies. The kleenex has come in handy during the winter months when students tend to have a more runny nose or come down with colds so they always need to use the tissue. The kleenex is such a gentle thing to use on their noses too because otherwise they'd have to use very rough brown paper towels. \r\n\r\nThe soap and soap dispenser have also been great additions to the classroom. The students are washing their hands every day whether it's before school starts, for snack time or whenever their hands are dirty. The classroom sink unfortunately does not have a soap dispenser for the children to use, only inside of the bathroom. The soap dispenser ensures that students have a chance to wash their hands at both sinks which cuts down time for waiting in line and also is helpful when students are in the bathroom using it and someone needs to wash their hands. We are very fortunate to have a water fountain on the same floor as our classroom so students are allowed to walk to the water fountain independently and get their water bottles filled so that they have access to water throughout the day! Their water bottles also helped them develop a sense of responsibility because each student had their own and they were responsible for keeping the bottle clean and its location. They loved the different colors to choose from and I let them keep it after school ended which they greatly appreciated!\r\n\r\nThe healthy snacks were also a huge success with my students. Towards the end of the year we had multiple field trips and these snacks were used so all students had a quick healthy option for food. The students loved the different flavors of the fruit sticks and also the fig bars.
