The carpet has become a favorite spot where students gather for group discussions and collaborative activities. Just last week, we used the timers during a math challenge, and it was so exciting to see the kids fully engaged and cheering each other on as they worked against the clock. The timers have also been a wonderful tool for helping students develop time-management skills during independent work.\r\n\r\nThe moment my students saw the new materials, their faces lit up with pure excitement. They couldn't wait to explore and start using everything. It's heartwarming to see how these resources have not only enhanced their learning but also created a sense of joy and ownership in the classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our journey, we're using the materials to dive deeper into group projects and hands-on learning experiences. Next, we'll be working on a collaborative science project where students will use the carpet space to brainstorm ideas and the timers to structure their experiments. What an impact my funded project has had in my classroom! We received a classroom set of pencils that can be used with our iPads, along with writing journals. We use our pencils every day for most of the day. Much of our work is on the digital platform Seesaw, and now that students can get an authentic experience of WRITING (not using their fingers as their tool), their penmanship has improved along with an increased engagement in the activities. The second part of the grant was for grade-level appropriate journals. Again, so much enthusiasm for getting their ideas down on paper, and then having the space to draw a picture as well. We are so appreciative of the generosity of donors that made this happen.
