The moment my first graders saw the new materials—hand2mind Elkonin Boxes, magnetic ten-frames, popper dice, mesh zipper pouches, and oversized dry erase sleeves—they were absolutely thrilled. One student exclaimed, \"This looks like a learning treasure chest!\"\r\n\r\nWe've already begun using the Elkonin Boxes during our phonemic awareness lessons. Students tap out sounds with magnetic chips, slide them into boxes, and build words with confidence. It's been especially powerful for our emerging readers and English language learners—giving them a visual and tactile way to connect sounds to letters.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic ten-frames have become a staple in our math centers. Students use them to build number combinations, practice addition. And the oversized dry erase sleeves? Game-changers! Students slide in activity sheets and practice again and again with dry-erase markers, saving paper and boosting engagement.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools to grow, explore, and shine. Your kindness has made our classroom a place where every child feels capable, celebrated, and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1755522433438,"projectUrl":"project/read-solve-grow-creating-engaging-lea/9448754/","projectTitle":"Read, Solve, Grow: Creating Engaging Learning Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp934224_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1524744764331","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/co-johnson"},{"teacherId":934224,"projectId":9448755,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has become a more organized, efficient, and joyful space for learning! The MaxGear Acrylic File Organizer and sturdy hanging folders have transformed our writing center into a magical hub of creativity. Students now easily access their writing prompts, anchor charts, and seasonal activities—each neatly filed and ready to inspire.\r\n One of our favorite moments was during our \"Birthday Wishes Writing Project,\" when students gleefully pulled out themed writing pages from the new organizer and got to work crafting heartfelt notes for classmates. The independence and pride they showed were priceless!\r\nWhen the AFMAT electric pencil sharpener arrived, you would've thought it was a birthday gift for the whole class! The excitement was real—students lined up to sharpen their pencils, marveling at how fast and smooth it worked. It's now a beloved part of our morning routine, and it's helped keep our writing time focused and frustration-free. These tools may seem simple, but they've made a big difference in how our classroom runs and how our students feel about their learning space.\r\n\r\nNext up, we're diving into our fall-themed writing unit, where students will use their freshly sharpened pencils and organized filing folders system to craft stories about autumn adventures.
