Having individual books allowed students to fully engage with the text, annotate their thinking, and build a personal connection with the story in a way that simply wouldn't have been possible otherwise.\r\n\r\nAfter reading the novel, students explored the power of figurative language, including similes, metaphors, and imagery. They were especially inspired by the main character's journey as a writer, which helped even my most hesitant students feel more confident expressing themselves. Using what they learned, each student created their own original poetry book. Watching them take pride in their writing, share their voices, and grow as readers and writers was incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just provide books—it sparked creativity, confidence, and a love of poetry in our classroom.
