While our school garden has always been a source of pride, many students live in apartments or homes without outdoor space. This project gave them the tools and confidence to create their own countertop gardens and experience the joy of growing food at home.\r\nWhen the growing kits arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students eagerly unpacked trays, germination paper, and seeds, asking questions like, \"Can I really grow this in my kitchen?\" For many, the idea of harvesting fresh greens in a small space felt revolutionary.\r\nIn class, students practiced planting and caring for microgreens, documenting growth in journals and sharing observations. One unforgettable moment was when the first sprouts appeared on day 3 — students compared trays and celebrated their success together. Then came the best part: taking the trays home. Several students proudly reported teaching siblings how to plant seeds and adding microgreens to family meals. One student said, \"My mom loved that we grew these on the counter!\"\r\nThis project has sparked conversations about healthy eating and sustainability in homes that rarely had access to fresh produce.\r\nYour donation didn't just fund supplies — it empowered students (and their families!) to see that growing food is possible anywhere.
