Using the posters as visual references and the anatomical models for hands-on examination, they explored how different systems interconnect and support human life. The models allowed them to see relationships between structures that are difficult to grasp from diagrams alone. Students made connections between form and function in ways that brought the material to life.\r\n\r\nWe're building on this foundation by diving deeper into specific body systems. Students will continue using these materials to strengthen their understanding of anatomy and physiology. For those interested in healthcare careers, these models provide an invaluable preview of what they'll encounter in future studies.","fullyFundedDate":1752775112724,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-tomorrow/9453777/","projectTitle":"Tools for Tomorrow","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Spooner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9297590"},{"teacherId":10243890,"projectId":9706754,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Indoor Gardening Club at DSST Cole High School! Because of your generosity, our 9th–12th grade students now have a calm, hands-on space where they can learn about nature, sustainability, and community—right inside our school building.\r\n\r\nIn a downtown Denver neighborhood where green spaces are limited, this project has brought sunlight, life, and curiosity into our halls. Students have learned to nurture seedlings under grow lights, test soil, care for herbs, and observe how patience and teamwork help things thrive. The garden has become a peaceful, purposeful environment—a space that invites focus, responsibility, and pride.\r\n\r\nHere's what our students had to say about what the Gardening Club means to them:\r\n\r\n\"I feel like the Gardening Club is doing amazing, but I'd love to have new resources to continue planting and growing more for our little community. I'm new to gardening, but I'm eager to learn and grow things of my own. Growing more would mean a lot to more than just our school—it can help out the community garden too.\"- Freshman\r\n\r\n\"I feel like this club is good because it allows us to have sunlight and connect with nature instead of just looking at a screen all the time. It helps us learn how to garden, and we can also help the community. If we stay interested, this could even inspire us to study gardening or environmental science in college.\" - Sophomore\r\n\r\n\"What Gardening Club means to me is a new learning opportunity. I never had the chance to work in a garden before. I always saw people gardening when I walked with my grandma, and now I get to do it myself. I want to grow strawberries, roses, blueberries, carrots, and peppers. At the end of the day, I just want to learn more about how plants live so I can grow my own someday.\" - Junior\r\n\r\n\"I'm so grateful that I got the chance to be part of gardening. I may be new, but I enjoy the process and how it works. It's such a great opportunity to learn about the environment, and it's fun to see our progress each week. I hope we can get more resources to keep learning and expanding what we can grow.\" - Senior\r\n\r\n\"Gardening Club is important for the school because it helps the environment and teaches us about growth for our planet. Gardening can improve air quality, reduce waste, and conserve water. It's good for us and good for the Earth.\" - Senior\r\n\r\n\"Our club brings students together to learn about sustainability and caring for our environment through hands-on gardening. This fall, we're hoping to start our very own garden, and to make this possible we need funding for seeds, soil, and tools. Your support helps us grow fresh produce, create a greener school, and give back to the community.\" - Senior\r\n\r\nThese reflections capture exactly why the Indoor Gardening Club has become such an important part of our school community. For many of our students, this is their first time nurturing something living—and watching their faces light up when a sprout appears is pure magic. They're not only learning science and sustainability but also patience, collaboration, and care.\r\n\r\nNow, as we look toward the next phase of our project, our students are eager to expand what they've started. Students want to grow a greater variety of herbs, vegetables, and flowers, add more grow lights and shelving, and learn about hydroponics and composting. \r\n\r\nWe also recently learned that SNAP benefits are set to be cut in November, a resource our community relies on heavily. Our next goal is to expand the garden to contribute fresh herbs and produce to our school's food bank. \r\n\r\nYour continued support will help make all of this possible. Every additional planter, seed packet, and light fixture allows more students to join, more experiments to begin, and more learning to take root.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students, their potential, and their vision of a greener, healthier, and more connected school. You've already helped plant the seeds—now we invite you to help us grow the next phase of this project. Together, we're cultivating not just plants, but confidence, community, and hope.","fullyFundedDate":1757870866136,"projectUrl":"project/school-house-roots/9706754/","projectTitle":"School House Roots","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Simms","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10243890_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760726123855","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10243890"},{"teacherId":9480856,"projectId":8753959,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donation of snacks for my students!
