It is the perfect spot for us to play games and is so helpful in many lessons. Additionally, the rug is so useful for students to remember where their assigned spot is in Music class. The rug is full of musical symbols (think piano/forte, quarter note/quarter rest) and I am able to reference them all the time using the rug spots. \r\n\r\nJust this past week, I have used the rug to play a few games: a cup-song rhythm passing game where we pass the cups in a circle to the song \"The Monster Mash,\" passing a \"witches broom\" around the circle while xylophones accompany us, and passing a pumpkin around the circle in a hot-potato fashion while a song plays. Sitting in a circle is so important for most music games, and our rug makes it so easy! \r\n\r\nWhen we received the rug in September, my students were SO excited! They were cheering and clapping, smiling from ear to ear, eager to learn which color spot they would be assigned. Lucky for me, I got to experience their reactions in all 20 of my classes! It was such a great week watching their eyes light up with excitement! \r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting my classroom and helping to make my dream a reality!","fullyFundedDate":1786541714269,"projectUrl":"project/a-place-for-every-musician/10334071/","projectTitle":"A Place for Every Musician","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Weismann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10529873_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1781233614957","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/weismann-rug"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_26154","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":476,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.5,"schoolId":26154,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dryden Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dryden Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/arlington-heights-school-district-25/dryden-elementary-school/26154"}
