By providing funds, I was able to purchase much needed supplies that will help the kindergarten students in my classroom. \r\n\r\nMany of the supplies are used as small group center activities that students can work on independently or under the guidance of a teacher. The students in our classroom have explored the lacing cards and fine motor practice boards several times since their arrival in the classroom. \r\n\r\nSome students need a tactile reminder when learning letter sounds. The sandpaper sounds allow students to feel the shape of the sound as they try to make the sound orally. As mentioned in my request, so many kids come down to the nurse with headaches and other complaints from dehydration. I had been providing water for them, but realized a greater need for hydration in the classrooms that water fountains and my water pitcher were just not helping. Because of your generosity, I feel like providing water bottles for students who don't have them has really helped them stay focused and in class and school, ensuring their success academically. The cool purple color is also a bonus to help support school spirit as that is our color! The folding table has also made a huge impact on our day to day. We have sorted donated clothing on it, have used it for our hearing and vision screenings, have held nurse meetings around it and even had lunch at it! It is one of the best additions to helping our office function flawlessly!
