Students visited stations where they learned about deep breathing, sensory regulation, mindfulness, positive self-talk, and releasing physical tension. They received bubbles, sour candy, a journal, an affirmation card, and a stress ball to add to their own Coping Skills Toolkit. Students were excited to receive their toolkit bags and especially enjoyed discovering what they would collect at each station!\r\n\r\nMore importantly, the materials gave us an opportunity to make conversations about stress and emotional wellness approachable, interactive, and fun. Students learned that coping skills can look different for everyone and were encouraged to identify strategies that work best for them. Seeing students immediately try their bubbles, squeeze their stress balls, read their affirmation cards, and look through their journals reminded me that even simple tools can help students feel empowered to care for their emotional well-being.\r\n\r\nYour donation will continue to make an impact beyond this event. We will reinforce these coping strategies throughout the school year through social-emotional learning activities and our Zen Den wellness space. Students can continue practicing these skills and adding new strategies to their personal coping toolkits as they learn more about managing emotions, handling stress, and asking for support when they need it.
