We use the freezer to store cookie dough our students prepare and sell as part of our life skills and work based learning program. Having proper storage, allows us to increase production, maintain food safety, and keep our products fresh for customers. This means we can increase sales, raise more funds that go directly back into our classroom necessities.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new freezer, they were super intrigues! They asked all types of questions and I even turned their excitement into a lesson about raising more money and how our increased funds could provide us with more opportunities. Mt students quickly realized that with the deep freezer, our enterprise now runs more like a legit business! It sparked conversations about inventory management, food safety, and customer service which are all essential job skills they're learning through this project.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to expand our cookie offerings and track our profits to set goals for upcoming community experiences. The students are currently working on labeling and organizing our inventory system, which gives them hands-on practice with workplace organization and accountability.\r\n\r\nThis donation has not only given us a practical tool but also strengthened our students' confidence and sense of purpose. As part of our School Based Enterprise, we use the cart to collect recycling campus wide and us the shredder to shred the paper to then be made into paper using the other materials.
