Complex words and lengthy passages were not going to be a barrier for them! Their other teachers were impressed with the independence and confidence the pens gave to the students. \r\n\r\nAs my students become more fluent readers, they needed less support from the pens. However, I have found that these same students make amazing trainers for the more recently identified students with dyslexia. This project has become more than just giving reading support to struggling students. It has peaked an interest to read harder book levels and developed leadership skills among peers. \r\n\r\nWe will continue to use these pens this school year and appreciate all that you have done to make the mission of making reading accessible to all students a reality. Thank you for helping me impact the reading journey of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1742349823966,"projectUrl":"project/scanning-for-the-future/9102406/","projectTitle":"Scanning For The Future","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Palmer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9918195"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_8040","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":654,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":30,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":40,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":8040,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cheri L Cox Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cheri L Cox Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/wylie-ind-school-district-collin/dr-cheri-l-cox-elementary-school/8040"}
