Because of your generosity, this is the first year we have been able to allow all classes working with clay to finish their sculptures with transformative, glossy glaze. When I first told our students they would be able to use glaze thanks to generous donors, the energy in the room was electric. They lit up as they discussed their plans for the vibrant colors they would use, and it has completely shifted the way they approach their craftsmanship. This glaze has turned our room into a professional studio where every child feels their work is worthy of a custom finish that will last forever.\r\n\r\nThe incredible impact of your donation is visible all over the Art room in glistening clay creations and smiling faces. So far, our Kindergarteners have seen their simple pinch pots emerge from the kiln with a brilliant shine, 4th graders have made functional cupcake containers with \"frosting\" lids, and 5th graders have created personality-filled bobble heads that are truly one-of-a-kind. 1st graders will make advanced pinch pots, 2nd graders will make crazy pinch pot creatures, and 3rd graders are currently working on coil pots. Everyone will get to glaze their projects because of your donations. Your belief in the importance of elementary art education tells these children that their creativity is worth a significant investment. We constantly use the dot markers and the tempera paint sticks are a huge hit because they are so vibrant and easy to use. The adaptive scissors have opened a new realm of independence in collage-making that many students are experiencing for the very first time.\r\nYour support is a meaningful investment in the lives and confidence of these wonderful children.
