Defuccio School would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all of the generous donors who supported our Social and Emotional Reading Group, Love Literacy. The students were so excited when they saw the new bean bags, books , and rug. These materials have created a warm, comfortable, and welcoming reading space where students can relax, connect, and develop a love for reading.\r\n\r\n The students are enjoying the new books, rug and bean bags and are excited to spend time\r\n in their new reading area. Love Literacy has created a movement throughout our school. Several students have expressed interest in joining the School Counselors' Social and Emotional Reading Group, which has been wonderful to see. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has given our students more\r\nthan books and a comfortable reading space—it has created opportunities for them to\r\nbuild connections, express themselves, develop social-emotional skills, and discover the joy of reading. My vision is to expand Love Literacy into a Love Literacy Lunch Reading Club at Dr. Charles P. Defuccio School, where all students can come together to read, connect, and learn to love literacy.
