We received all of our materials, set up our new greenhouse, and have started seedlings that will carry our garden into the next season. The new tools have been a huge help for our students, especially as they worked hard in the heat to prepare the garden for winter.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, the students' excitement was contagious — they were eager to open boxes, try out the tools, and imagine the possibilities. One of the best moments was watching them use the greenhouse for the first time; they couldn't believe how quickly their seedlings began to sprout.\r\n\r\nYour support has made an impact not only on our school, but also on our larger community. After seeing our updates, the city community center reached out and has offered to partner with us by providing soil and community connections. Together, we now have plans to spread the love of gardening even further by gifting fresh seedlings to community members so they can begin gardens of their own.\r\n\r\nThe next step for our students is to continue caring for the seedlings and planning how to share them. They are already brainstorming ways to invite families and neighbors to be part of this growing project, ensuring the garden extends well beyond our schoolyard.\r\n\r\nOur students are gaining valuable skills, confidence, and pride through this project and it's all possible because of you. We installed the terra cotta water stakes, and the garden is flourishing even further. As the Inland Empire heat has set in, we have not experienced the wilting of the plants that has happened in previous years. Without access to a hose bib in the garden, students are spending less time gardening and more time tending to the plants\r\nThe students enjoyed installing the stakes. They learned how to distance the devices from the plants – balancing providing water with the plants while avoiding damaging the plant roots. They learned the importance of sub-soil watering. \r\nThank you for your support.
