Throughout my reading and reflection process, I underlined, dog eared, and highlighted each text thoroughly and have already begun implementing what I have learned.\r\n\r\nLast year, I rolled out the Family Musical Identity Project to learn more about the musical backgrounds and culture of the families at my school. Over 165 families participated, sharing so much fascinating data and opportunities to shift curriculum to reflect the backgrounds and interests of my students. To no one's surprise, the books I received as part of this funded project supported the data from the Family Musical Identity Project and helped me understand even more deeply the importance of this venture.\r\n\r\nSo far, I have already integrated two new units of study in my classroom based on what I learned through the Family Musical Identity Project submissions and from the books from this project.
