Your generosity has helped purchase a color printer that is actively serving 160 ESOL students in our six 5th grade classrooms. To me it has meant so much more. With access to this new printer I have been able to provide to my students, my fellow teachers, and most importantly our parents with important paperwork. \r\n\r\nAs an ESOL teacher I am required to submit many pieces of paper to document every student's progress. From the moment the items arrived, our students' excitement was contagious, many of the students ran over, eager to explore and try everything out. They were amazed to see all of the fun resources that they had only seen in pictures before. For many of our students, this was their first time having such a variety of engaging, hands-on equipment, and it was heartwarming to see them laughing, collaborating, and building confidence while playing together.\r\n\r\nSince receiving your donation, we have incorporated the equipment into weekly outdoor activities, physical education lessons, and recess time. These resources have not only helped our students develop physical skills, but have also been a wonderful way to practice English in a natural, playful setting, cheering each other on, learning new words, and following instructions in English. Your support has truly enriched their school experience, giving them opportunities to connect with their peers and feel included. Your generous donations allowed us to provide additional copies of the competition books—something we desperately needed, as our library is limited to only three copies of each title. Because of your help, more students were able to access these books in a timely manner, rather than waiting for school-ordered books that often take weeks to arrive.\r\n\r\nMany of our students do not have access to the internet at home, making it difficult for them to read digital versions of these books. The physical copies you provided ensured that every student, regardless of their home resources, had an equal opportunity to engage with the stories, practice comprehension skills, and participate fully in our Reading Bowl preparations.\r\n\r\nReading in our school is more than just an assignment—it's an adventure. Our students met in teams, discussed themes, analyzed characters, and practiced answering competition-style questions. These new books ignited excitement in our library, with students eagerly discussing their favorite parts and quizzing each other on details. The enthusiasm was contagious, and even students not on the team were inspired to pick up these engaging new reads.\r\n\r\nThis year was our school's first time competing in the district-level Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl. While we fell short of winning, the experience was invaluable. Our students demonstrated perseverance, teamwork, and a newfound appreciation for reading. Many students have already expressed their eagerness to participate again next year!\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who initially struggled with reading confidence, found her love for books through this competition. She took home one of the donated books, read it cover to cover multiple times, and became one of our strongest team members. Seeing her excitement and growth was a direct result of the access your donations provided.\r\n\r\nYour kindness made this all possible. You didn't just provide books—you provided opportunities, encouragement, and a love of reading that will last far beyond this competition.
