These new books have given my students more choices and more opportunities to practice reading books that match their growing skills. In kindergarten, students are learning how letters and sounds work together, how to decode words, how to track print, and how to build confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nWe are using these books in our classroom book boxes, during independent reading, partner reading, and literacy rotations. Each week, students choose books to add to their personal book boxes so they can practice reading throughout the week. Having more decodable and kindergarten-friendly books means students can spend more time reading books they can actually decode and understand.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom looks like little learners sitting with books in their hands, pointing to words, stretching sounds, rereading familiar pages, talking about pictures, and proudly saying, \"I can read this!\" These new texts support important skills such as decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and print awareness. They also help students build stamina and independence as readers.\r\n\r\nOne of the best parts has been watching students get excited when they find a book they can read on their own or with a friend. Some students who were once hesitant to read are now more willing to open a book, try the words, and share what they notice. These books are helping my kindergarteners see themselves as real readers.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue using these books to strengthen our reading routines, build confidence, and help students keep growing as they \"level up\" throughout the year. These tables and chairs have given my kindergarten students a designated place to learn, practice, and grow during our daily literacy and math rotations. We are using these new resources for small-group station work, partner activities, independent practice, building words, writing, reading together, building with LEGOs, and hands-on learning.\r\n\r\nOne special moment was watching my students use the tables to read together and build with LEGOs. They worked side by side, shared materials, talked with their classmates, and practiced staying focused in their learning space. Having a clear station area helped them know where to go, what to do, and how to work together successfully. In kindergarten, that structure is a big part of helping students become confident and independent learners.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new tables and chairs, they were so excited! They immediately wanted to sit, explore, and use the space. Their faces lit up because they knew this was a special learning area made just for them. It made our classroom feel even more organized, welcoming, and ready for learning.\r\n\r\nBecause of this project, our next steps are to continue building stronger literacy and math routines during rotations. Students will keep practicing how to work independently, collaborate with classmates, use materials responsibly, and complete station activities with confidence. We will continue using our Destination Station as a place where students can read together, write, build words, create with LEGOs, problem-solve, and grow every day.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom and helping create a space where my students can learn, grow, and shine!
