Many of our students have had a lack of opportuity to read and discuss books. Reading groups have opened their eyes to how each student views a book differently.\r\n\r\nStudents have begun with reading Harvest House. As part of this book club they have been identifying characters and their traits. They have been tackling unfamaliar words and using context clues to determine meaning. They have been practicing their read aloud skills, fluency and inflection. But most important of all they have been supporting each others reading abilities and comprehension skills.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I love seeing students support each other in learning and supporting academic skills.
