Your generosity helps provide our students with books, materials, and learning experiences that reflect different cultures, backgrounds, abilities, and families. In preschool, children are beginning to learn about themselves and the world around them, and these experiences help them build empathy, confidence, kindness, and respect for others.\r\n\r\nMany young children may not always see themselves represented in classroom materials. Because of your support, our students will have opportunities to see their identities celebrated while also learning to appreciate the uniqueness of their classmates. These resources will help create meaningful conversations, strengthen social-emotional learning, and foster a classroom environment where every child feels seen, valued, safe, and included.\r\n\r\nYour donation is making a direct and lasting impact on the lives of our students. The materials from this project will support hands-on learning, encourage positive peer relationships, and help build a strong classroom community where all children can thrive. Through this project, children learned that they can help care for their environment and make a positive impact on the world around them—even at a young age.\r\n\r\nThe children actively planted seeds, watered soil, and observed how plants grow over time. This hands-on experience supported early science skills such as observing, predicting, and asking questions. It also strengthened fine motor skills as children scooped soil, placed seeds, and gently patted the dirt.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the biggest impact was on the children's sense of responsibility and community. They learned that plants need care, patience, and teamwork to grow—just like our community. Children took pride in checking on the plants daily and reminded one another to water them and treat them gently.\r\n\r\nThis project also supported social-emotional learning. Students practiced working together, taking turns, and using kind words as they shared tools and responsibilities. Many children expressed excitement and confidence, saying they were \"helping the earth\" and \"making things grow.\"\r\n\r\nBecause of this project, our classroom became a space where children learned that small actions can make a big difference. The experience helped plant not only seeds in the soil, but also seeds of empathy and care for the community.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping our youngest leaders grow—inside and out.","fullyFundedDate":1744817643660,"projectUrl":"project/little-humans-will-give-back-to-the-comm/9211682/","projectTitle":"Little Humans Will Give Back to the Community by Planting!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vallas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7020124_orig.jpg?crop=1179,1179,x0,y55&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743265221947","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7020124"},{"teacherId":6137927,"projectId":9263475,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my appreciation for investing in my students' futures. Your kind donation to our project allowed us to furnish the STEAM room with engaging, hands-on science materials. The kids are so excited to come to the STEAM room and explore all of the fun new learning materials. Currently, the kids are fascinated by the insect specimens and microscopes. They especially love looking at the butterfly specimens!\r\n\r\nAs the leaves begin to change, many of our students are finding treasures on their walk to school, such as acorns, pine cones, or a beautiful orange leaf. The Guidecraft Treasure Tubes are a perfect way for the kids to share their finds, and look at them more closely. They are also using the binoculars that we ordered for this project to look out of the classroom window to spot birds, insects, and plants. It is such a gift for children growing up in a more urban area to feel a connection with the natural world.\r\n\r\nI want to emphasize again how valuable your donation truly was for my students. By donating to this project, you have helped me to give my students a strong foundation in STEAM learning, that will set them up for a bright future. Our school community is truly grateful for your kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1755726849867,"projectUrl":"project/pre-k-needs-science-materials/9263475/","projectTitle":"Pre-K Needs Science Materials!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lagermann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6137927_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746206881912","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6137927"},{"teacherId":6137927,"projectId":9216977,"letterContent":"I am writing again to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity in donating to my project. As my students began the new school year, I was able to welcome them into a STEAM classroom filled with hands-on, developmentally appropriate materials. I am currently teaching a unit on simple machines (levers, inclined planes, wheels and axles, pulleys, etc). We began by exploring how an inclined plane can help things to move, and the Lakeshore Balls and Ramps were perfect for the kids to experiment with incline and speed. For my younger students, the Montessori Ball drop from Amazon gave them the perfect opportunity to observe how ramps work, and the kids love to drop the balls into the toy and track their movements. The Jumbo Simple Machine Builder is currently assembled into a giant lever, which the kids use to lift buckets full of blocks. A few of my little learners have even worked out how to place weight on both sides of the lever's arm to balance it! \r\n\r\nIt truly is such a gift to the kids to have all of these incredible opportunities to learn STEAM concepts. The leaders of tomorrow are in our classrooms today, and I thank you again for investing in my students' futures.","fullyFundedDate":1754564809746,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-district-pre-k-expand-our-stem/9216977/","projectTitle":"Help Our District Pre-K Expand Our STEM Program!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lagermann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6137927_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746206881912","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6137927"},{"teacherId":1537721,"projectId":9032934,"letterContent":"We want to thank you for the beautiful outdoor and indoor equipment that our students received at our PreK Center. Here at school, they get to experience that on a daily basis, twice a day. \r\nI've walked into the gym and outside on the playground, watching them run around, climb, slide down, with smiles on their faces.
