We dove right into a hands-on investigation, exploring our kits and making predictions before placing them in water. Students eagerly recorded observations, debated results, and adjusted their thinking as they discovered that size doesn't always determine whether something sinks or floats. When the materials were first introduced, their excitement was immediate—eyes widened as they opened the kits, and many couldn't wait to get started. Because of these resources, learning has become more interactive, collaborative, and student-driven. The kits and books have encouraged thoughtful questioning and rich discussions, even among students who are usually hesitant to participate. \r\n\r\nThe new science books quickly became favorites as well, with students flipping through pages, pointing out pictures, and making connections to our learning. These books have also been an amazing resource for introducing students to women and people of color who have made incredible contributions to our world through science. As we read and discussed these stories, students saw scientists who look like them and come from diverse backgrounds, which sparked meaningful conversations about perseverance, creativity, and the many paths to discovery. This representation has helped students broaden their understanding of who can be a scientist and inspired them to imagine themselves making important contributions in the future. Thanks to your generosity, students feel like real scientists—curious, confident, and excited to keep learning.","fullyFundedDate":1763599362466,"projectUrl":"project/new-steam-lab/9512693/","projectTitle":"New STEAM Lab","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wasyliw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10099468_orig.jpg?crop=462,462,x3,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754074133770","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10099468"},{"teacherId":4905626,"projectId":9291278,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our music program! Your donation has already made a real difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe new hand drums have brought fresh energy to our rhythm work. Students light up the moment I bring them out, and the sound fills the room with joy. The little amplifier has been a game changer for my middle school guitarists as they explore electric guitars for the first time. The carpet spots are helping us move and play with structure and ease, and the label maker is keeping everything beautifully organized so we can spend more time making music and less time managing supplies.\r\n\r\nThese may seem like simple tools, but they've created a learning environment where students can participate fully, express themselves, and feel proud of what they create together.
